Also any advice on the pesky triangles would be helpful - ive managed to complete a few triangle ones, but only really stupidly simple ones, nothing really. (i dont mean triddlers - i mean the normal griddlers with triangles in)

For me, triangles can be rather easily placed since they usually make a edge of a wall or roof of a house. Also, depending on the puzzle, you might just have a few of them & then are rather obvious to place. Then, look @ the colors used in the triangles & you can figure out where some of the solid colored clues go.
I remember when I first found this site & saw them, I got TOTALLY lost because I was just used to the basic b/w blocks in a puzzle. When I realized what role they play, I began to see that there is a LOT MORE design wise you can do!
You can also filter what kind of puzzles you want, so try searching for some smaller ones with triangles to get the hang of them.
