Problems viewing and working with Mac OS 10.6

When using the website, puzzles must be solved in one session. If the computer goes to sleep, the window disappears and I'm left with the coffee cup picture with a red exclamation mark over it. Also, the grid is horrible to look at on my MacBook Pro with large, dark question marks on the empty grid. Everything looks and works perfectly on OS 10.4 - PowerBook and PowerMac. Anyone else using Snow Leopard?

I'm using Snow Leopard but I'm kinda having the opposite problem. I finish a puzzle and try to go on to the next puzzle but the puzzle I just finished won't let me exit or close. It doesn't happen all the time but I've had to shut down my internet browser completely and start it again just to close an old puzzle so I could start a new one.

Hi
I am using Lion, so it is a bit different. One of possible solutions is to install Open JDK instead of Sun Java preinstalled with Mac OS.
Here is a list of all possible builds of OpenJDK for Mac http://code.google.com/p/openjdk-osx-build/ , just choose latest stable version for your OS.

Hi
the lite version is deployed only for Griddlers, not other puzzle types.
There can be several problems with  Java for Mac OS X 10.6. On July Apple released new update with more strict security options so it could be somehow disabled. You can try this tutorial : http://support.ziplogix.com/zf6/KBA-01697.asp
Reinstalling the update could also help, don't forget to close browser before installation: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1573
Or try to install Java from Oracle http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jre7-downloads-1880261.html

I've had that happen as well.  It's especially frustrating when it was a difficult puzzle that took me a while to complete.  I don't want to have to solve it all over again - it takes the joy out of it.

Reading these posts, I wonder why the Java applet was working just fine for me until about 3 days ago.  I am running Snow Leopard on my Intel Mac, and I wasn't having any problem with the new version since it was first presented.

Suddenly nothing will work for me but the old applet.  Do I need a new OS?

I have only 10.9.1 with Oracle Java.

Thank you.  It now works again.

I wish I knew why it stopped and why it is back on.

But, thanks,
