Looking for people to test Sudoku solver

I noticed this with the smaller puzzles but I believe it was happening on larger ones as well. Using the mouse, the detection window was forcing me to put in the value for the same square multiple times in a row even though I swear I was scrolling onto a new square. Maybe I was solving too fast but I couldn't find a consistent way to keep the detection window flowing. It was often stalling on the number that was most previously input. I think only after randomly shaking my mouse around did the detection window seem to become free again.

I did notice that if the keyboard is used to solve a puzzle this problem doesn't appear.

1) Pencilmarks sometimes are not enough visible.
2) Right-mouse clicking opens also browser menu.

Context menu - what browser is it ? There is a command to disable context menu in the code, maybe this is only special feature of some browser.

Pencilmarks - yes, this is problem special with Killer. I'll try to move pencilmarks to the bottom of cell.

Is it possible to set same functionality of keys with numbers on alphabetic part of keyboard as in Griddlers/Triddlers applet?
I mean that regardless of keyboard language choosen in the OS, when I press e.g. this key "ľ/ě/2", the number "2" will be written.

If you want to remove only one pencilmark (e.g.: 3) - select "3" from the pencilmark sub-menu, or type "3" when you are in pencilmark mode.

Hi,
when I select a theme by clicking on the tab, and then select a size, I get a list of puzzles of this size.
But how do I get back to the size-selection?
When I have solved some of the puzzles on the list, the back-button of the explorer sends me back to those puzzles instead of the main pages I came from.
By chance I found out that you can get back to the size selection by clicking on the tab again. But I would prefer a button "back to theme" on top of the puzzle list.

Can I find the rules of the non-standard-puzzles somewhere?

Is it possible to add filter Solved/Unsolved in the list of puzzles?

I'm also having a problem where the mouse isn't where I think it is and I either inadvertently change something or put a number into a box I don't intend. It seems to be worse around the edges and particularly the corners. I also noticed something strange about the solve dates. Even though at the top right of the screen it says the date/time is Jul 29, 2011 10:45PM GMT, it is putting 7/30/11 as the solve date. Pretty nifty though if it thinks I'm going to solve the puzzle again tomorrow!

Is it possible to set also comma (,) as a key for switch to pencilmarks?

Can we have "Next/Previous puzzle" buttons on the page with opened puzzle?
(As an alternative to returning back to list of puzzles and selecting another puzzle.)

I'm seeing the same thing that others are seeing, where the red border doesn't always move to the square that you click on, and I inadvertently change a square that I didn't want to.

Feature request for the pencil marks that I love on a Sudoku site that I frequent: Could you implement an auto-clear, where when you fill in a number, the appropriate pencil marks are cleared (for example, when you place a 2, all pencil marks for 2s in that row, column, etc. as per the rules of the puzzle get cleared). Like in the Sudoku site, this feature could be user selectable, but should default to the user's last setting.

Are these going to be available to non-subscribers once they go into release, and if so, what restrictions will be placed on them?

Back to list link - it remembers also selected page number.
Mouse navigation on the puzzle - now it should be better, only small mouse move should select the cell.

There, most definitely, has to be an undo button (and keystroke). It's most annoying when you find you made a mistake and can't undo any of your placements.

Jigsaw sudoku: the red square makes it difficult to see the difference between a thin black line en a fat black line. You have to move the red square to see the shape of the irregular block.

I noticed a puzzle which doesn't have a unique solution.
Puzzle 997 (a kakuro) has a 2x2 block at the top where 1 and 2 can be inverted.

To clarify, the block looks like this :
1 2
2 1

But it could also look like
2 1
1 2
and the solution would be valid.

In the past week you posted that there had been a pause button added to the puzzles but I can't find it.
As of tonight it doesn't seem to appear on the toolbar.
Will this be added? It would be really helpful especially on the larger puzzles.

The mid-time is calculated as follows:
Once we have 5 solving records - you see the mid-time. However, since there are only 5, the time may seem unrealistic (too fast or too slow). The mid-time keeps changing until we have 100 solving records.

So, if you see new puzzles take into consideration that the mid-time is not accurate.

Another suggestion: Make it possible to sort saved puzzles.

No no, I see that (and like that). The thing is, in that separate tab you can't sort those saved puzzles.

For parks use 0. It is available for both solid numbers and pencilmarks. Moreover, once you finish solving - the application will ask you automatically if you want to save/submit the solution.

I am confused what key is used for what action:

Switching between numbers and pencilmarks:
- key "." (on alphabetic part of keyboard)
- I found that also key "Delete"
- I found that also key "Delete" in numeric block but only if Numlock is OFF.
- Question: Why not also when Numlock is ON? It has no sense with Numlock OFF: I can't write numbers on numeric block in this case.
( Maybe is it due to keyboard language settings in the OS? )

Deleting pencilmarks or numbers:
- key "0" in most cases
- in Binary sudokus and Skyscrapers with parks is "0" used for numbers and marks, and no key for deleting of number/all pencilmarks exists?

It would be logical to use:
- key "Delete" (on alphabetic part of keyboard) to delete numbers/all pencilmarks
- key "Delete" (in numeric block of keyboard) to switch between numbers and pencilmarks
- key "," to switch between numbers and pencilmarks; to avoid issues with different keyboard language settings (desatinná čiarka vs. desatinná bodka)

Is it possible to display also list of all puzzles of same kind?

What I mean:
On puzzle page (e.g. for Straights) it should look like:

• 5 (4)
• 6 (3)
• 7 (2)
• 8 (1)
• 9 (2)
• All (12)

After click on "All"a list with all puzzles will be displayed with extra column for "Size/Type" (something like column "Size" in Gridlers/Triddlers lists).

I would love an option to see al puzzles at the same time, as mentioned before,
Not by size, but an option to see all sizes, of one sort of puzzle.

Ans I love the binary puzzles, I have books of them at home,
But.... is the puzzles are square (8X8) ot (10x10) they are a lot more "pleasent" to solve..

Exactly, that's why we can't use the name "Str8ts" . We did not change the name, we gave different name to the same thing.

The law is very clear on that matter:
The idea (creating a certain type of puzzle) is not copyright protected. The content of is.
In other words, everyone can create their own griddler/sudoku/kakuro/straights etc. It is forbidden to take a ready product (images, solved puzzles/solutions).

As for the mechanism - if you meant the software to create those puzzles - we have our own product. It is not flawless, if you followed the forum, but thanks to our users we fix the bugs they find.
