My process of tackling this behemoth (BTW, already found the riddle solution in Polish, though I now see parts of it anyway in what I have solved) was to start with the longest pieces, though I did my usual click on the top-left corner and solved it before doing the longest pieces. At first, I did only the 8-colour pieces (BTW, I tend to hate those, but noticed that most of them have isolated small sections in many colours and thus leave two or three main colours, which the other solved segments help solve) and got my next three from that list (4/100), then expanded my list and found only seven more puzzles at 50 minutes or longer. I've since solved another six (10/100), and plan next to take out the 50 minute puzzle, the longest remaining.

As I'm going to bed soon, I decided to do some math (something I'm good at). Here is a little trivia for the puzzle based on current solving data.

For all 100 pieces, the total mid-time (which I'm not sure shows anywhere, perhaps only on iGridd applet, though I added the times myself) is presently 36:07:55 - that is, 36 hours, 7 minutes, and 55 seconds. For the 10 longest pieces (not counting the 29:22 corner piece but counting the 50:03 piece I should tackle next), the total mid-time is 9:38:43 - 9 hours, 38 minutes, and 43 seconds. Factoring in my different piece completed, the mid-time of what I've completed is 9 hours, 18 minutes, and 2 seconds.

In other words, I've done 10 pieces and I'm already well past 1/4 of the way complete in terms of time spent (in fact, the quickest nine pieces of the puzzle can be done in less time than any of the nine long ones I've already tackled, taking ten, the total mid-time on the quick end is 55 minutes and 57 seconds). To make my process even more interesting, I have done a couple of pieces in blazing time, with my time so far on ten pieces being 9:01:11 - so far 17 minutes faster with one piece being well over the mid-time (I didn't use the method of changing colours at that point and my eyes were not enjoying that one with a background close to another colour).

The math above and the expected results seem to support my solving method. Get the longest pieces out of the way first, get the burn and impatience of hard figuring and long solving times out of the way, then work on the shorter puzzles. I did my first ten puzzles over three days (and not much of anything else; to be honest, I hate that, but I'm home for a bit this week monitoring projects so should have time). If I keep pace and do more puzzles in the same amount of time in the coming days, this puzzle could be completed for me by the 24th or 25th, definitely by the end of the month. We'll see! I figure some quit because the longer pieces are put off until later, then they lose patience and give up with a few pieces left to do; I hope in doing those first not to have the mental burn-out and will to quit because the rest should be a bit quicker from here on out!

EDIT: I was right! The rest of the pieces are indeed quicker, though I did hit a mental challenge on one or two of the next ten I took out. However, I seem to be beating the mid-times most of the time, so if I maintain this on the quicker pieces (will see when I get to the end), I should destroy the mid-time! Current time: 15:14:55 through 21 pieces, total shavings of 1:02:10 off the mid-time so far even with a 17 minute overage on one puzzle that drove me insane.

EDIT: All right, 63539 is one of those where I can't understand its quick solving mid-time. At 99,999 points, its mid-time is one minute quicker than the next slowest piece, 63509, which is only worth 36,672 points. I did solve 63539 eventually, but I found myself using picture logic (which is a form of guessing!) since it's the only way I can surmise that the puzzle was even completed so quickly! All the 1s remaining in the dark green colour told me what needed to be done, and it was unquestionably correct, after which I still had to search for the lighter green 2 that unlocked the next bit of solving (and more picture logic). And I was still a full minute slow!Cyclone2014-04-15T05:32:59ZRE: Griddle and Riddle: What Book is She Reading?ziglio .https://www.griddlers.net/de_DE/c/message_boards/find_message?p_l_id=&messageId=57253562014-02-26T12:46:51Z2014-02-26T12:46:51ZI have finished tooziglio .2014-02-26T12:46:51Z
