I'm having trouble with Java freezing up this morning.Mostly before I can even hit the solve button.

Any ideas?

I'm having the same problem myself. I messaged Griddlers.net on Facebook and was told to use the Lite version. It is so much more frustrating using that because it lags so much and it's quite a bit harder to see what I'm doing on Triddlers. I hope the applet will work again but the conversation I had with them earlier wasn't encouraging.

Switch to Java version is only available for subscribers in old puzzle list. It is supported in less and less browsers so I think it is better to configure the Javascript solver to your needs.

I really like the Java version, and I switched to Firefox ESR in order to do it.

Does the Javascript version  look like the Java one? How would we "configure the Javascript solver"?

I thought I was going to have to say goodbye to Griddlers a couple days ago, after all these years, when the Solve button wasn't working. emoticon

It is like 95% the same, I tried to make it better and also working on mobile devices.
If you open the puzzle here https://www.griddlers.net/nonogram/-/g/187386 , click solve and then click the icon menu - three horizontal lines - there are some options you can change - font, background, guides etc.

This looks like Javascript crashed in teh middle of rendering work.
What did you do just before this happend ?
Can find the Javascript console ? There is an error message.
What browser is this?

Hi Rasto,

I think you're right that javascript crashed.

All I do is solve the puzzle, I haven't done anything unusual before it happens. It happens A LOT! It seems fairly random the first time it happens when solving a puzzle - it can happen after a couple of mouseclicks or after 10 minutes, but once it happens once, it will happen again within about 10 - 30 mouseclicks and then it will keep happening!

It does correct if I zoom in and zoom out again.

I'm not sure about finding the error message? Where do I look?

I'm using internet explorer as I mostly do triddlers and find Java a million times more user friendly!
Also, this has been happening to me for about a year now.

Thanks for your help!

Hi Rasto,

Just one other problem I have with large puzzles: As you acn see, it cuts off the bottom numbers so I can't see what to solve without going up ad down a lot.

Any suggestions for this?

I really appreciate all of your help!

Thanks

Hi, here is how to show erros in Javascript https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg589530(v=vs.85).aspx .
Good image, I undestand what is the problem, but don't know how to solve it.
Your screen is so small that it can't show even complete clue - the longest one. What do you suggest ?

Hi Rasto,

I don't seem to see any errors in the console tab. Here are 2 screen shots.

Also, I will try the large puzzles onmy work laptop instead.

Thank you again.
